Whisky Tasting Event
The Single Malt Club is holding a special Whisky Tasting on Thursday, 29th of May. Featured will be the Diageo's Distiller's Edition range.
Distiller's Editions are a group of 9 different whiskies, each from a different distillery, that have been matured in two differnet style casks. In order to add an interesting touch to the whisky, the second cask has previously contained a type of fortified wine.
We have selected three of these Distiller's Editions, and paired them with their original whisky to allow you to compare the differences.
In order to prepare for seats and food, can you let us know ASAP if you will be attending.

Event Report
The Distiller's Edition Tasting Evening was to educate our guests on how a second cask can effect the taste of whisky.
We trialed three different whiskies and their double cask (Distiller Edition) counterparts in order to see what difference it makes
All whiskies became richer and more complex from the double barral treatment, and the Royal Lochnagar and the Lagavulin also became sweeter due to their sweeter style fortified wine casks.
To complement the whisky, we also had George from IST in full kilt and highland costume performing several classic bagpipe melodies throughout the evening.
Overall a highly entertaining evening, with more guests arriving after our presentation had concluded. Simon Liang also became our newest member by contributing a bottle of 30 year old Glen Deveron, as well as a bottle of Chivas Regal 25.
